Breathing

Inhaling and exhaling correctly during strenuous exercise is vital to maximizing your workouts. First, with more cardio duress, you need more oxygen. So many times, I see folks holding their breath, and they wind up falling short on whatever set of whatever exercise they are performing. Second, controlling your breathing helps to keep you calm and focused as you tax your muscles and push your body past its comfort levels. Last, exhaling during the press or pull of a given exercise gives you that little “extra” to complete the movement and it then forces you to inhale for the next repetition. So whatever you do, “Don’t forget to breathe.”
