Name: Rachel Newby
Position: Assistant Trainer
Age: 32
Years as a personal trainer: 1
Background: Rachel is a ‘96 Graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School where she was active in Field Hockey, Lacrosse, and Basketball; but it wasn’t until she was attended Kutztown University that she realized being fit is so much more interesting than typical high school ‘girl sports.’ Growing up, her mother always made her play outside, and she’ll tell you that she doesn’t sit still very well even today. She still believes going outdoors is a great way to keep active – whether you are in a kayak, up a mountain, or simply in your garden.
Today, Rachel is a runner, Yoga enthusiast, and ACE Certified Personal Trainer who has found a great balance of indoor and outdoor ways to keep in shape, while working towards an MS in Nutrition from West Chester University of PA and Level 1 Yoga certification from the Yoga Alliance.
Specialties: Gyms can be intimidating, especially for the first-time exerciser. Together with Train With Corey, I want to spread the secret: exercise doesn’t have to be complicated, you just have to keep active and put in the effort. A fan of functional/medicine ball exercises, I am constantly looking for fun and interesting ways to work your whole body in just a few movements. With my Yoga background, I am a big believer in incorporating flexibility training with every one of my clients. If you are looking for new ways to improve your power and flexibility, I will work with you to build a program that will help you feel better, look better, and perform better, and I will motivate you towards turning that program into a new, healthy lifestyle.
Favorite exercises: Fighting genetics has always been a big part of my life, so cardio has always been there with me. The beauty of cardiovascular conditioning is that the possibilities are endless- so we’ll find hundreds of ways to get you up and moving. Also- the medicine ball is the best! There is no limit of movements you can use with them, and they blast the muscles that connect to your whole body-your core muscles.
Favorite part about being a Train with Corey personal trainer: There is absolutely nothing like hearing a client tell me that they no longer have to take their high blood pressure medication, or their Diabetes is now under control for the first time in years. TWC offers the best way to reach your goals- a certified professional, motivating you forward. Working one on one, your goals are my goals!
Best advice for someone considering the Train With Corey way: No one has ever said, “I wish I hadn’t gone to work out.” There is nothing in the world like working towards and achieving a goal- the empowerment is fantastic! You’ll have to work hard in order to change your lifestyle, but I believe that anyone can do it, and TWC can help you get there.
